Two additional leaders from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have announced their departure from politics along with the party.
Former Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Assembly, Wasiq Qayyum Abbasi, and former Provincial Assembly member Malik Taimur Masood from Taxila revealed their decision to step away from politics via social media.
In his statement, Wasiq Qayyum Abbasi expressed that while his initial aim in politics was to serve the people, the strain of facing off with state institutions has become overwhelming. Consequently, he’s chosen to bid farewell to both politics and PTI. He emphasized his rejection of all forms of violence against state institutions and disapproved of PTI’s misleading narrative for the nation.
Malik Taimur Masood, after 15 years of public service, also announced his departure from politics and PTI. He cited an inability to continue political involvement while aligning with institutions, condemning any violent acts against state entities.
The former provincial assembly member strongly denounced any violent actions directed at state institutions.
