In a recent development in Islamabad, the Islamabad High Court has requested Raziq Sanjrani, the brother of Senate Chairman, to provide the complete documentation regarding the government house allocation. The court has directed him to submit these records to the Ministry of Housing, Petroleum, and the Establishment Division. The court is particularly interested in understanding the legal basis under which this house was allotted to him.
This case revolves around the alleged improper allocation of a government house to Raziq Sanjrani. During the court proceedings, it was disclosed that Mr. Sanjrani has already surrendered the allocated house. In response to this revelation, Justice Babar Sattar raised questions about the timing of this surrender, suggesting that there might be more to the situation than meets the eye.
Furthermore, the court has also raised concerns about Raziq Sanjrani’s appointment as the Managing Director of Sendak Metals Company. The Ministry of Petroleum clarified that his appointment in Sendak Metals Company initially stemmed from the Balochistan Rights initiative and was later regularized. The Establishment Division explained that Raziq Sanjrani’s appointment was made based on the recommendation of the Chief Minister of Balochistan.
The court has sought clarification regarding the duration of Raziq Sanjrani’s appointment, which was initially for three years starting in 2008. It has asked for any records related to extensions, given that we are now in 2023.
A representative from the Ministry of Housing mentioned that the company receives payment vouchers every three months. However, Justice Babar Sattar pointed out that this is a company matter and not under the jurisdiction of the Prime Minister, Chief Minister, or Minister.
Raziq Sanjrani’s lawyer has requested additional time for him to vacate the house, but the court emphasized the importance of promptly vacating the house, urging compliance.
