Islamabad: The Election Commission has summoned the Chief Election Commissioner of Tehreek-e-Insaf regarding the intra-party election and has said that in the election PTI did not fulfill the legal requirements.
According to Express News, the Election Commission raised questions on the intra-party elections of Tehreek-e-Insaf and summoned the Chief Election Commissioner of PTI in a personal capacity.
The Election Commission has also sent a notice to Niazullah Niazi regarding the PTI intra-party election case in which he has been directed to appear before the Election Commission on December 18 at 10 am.
The notice says that the intra-party elections of Tehreek-e-Insaaf are apparently not in accordance with the Party Constitution Rules 2020 and the Election Act 2017. The commission issues the certificate only after all the legal requirements for conducting intra-party elections under the Election Rules 2017 are fulfilled.
