Voting is ongoing for by-elections to fill chairman seat of Tehsil Mathura , Peshawar

The polling process for the chairman seat of Tehsil Mathura in Peshawar is underway and will continue until 5 pm. There are six candidates contesting in the elections: Rafiullah from JUI, Inamullah from PTI, Iftikhar Ahmed from Jamaat-e-Islami, Aziz Ghaffar Khan from ANP, Ali Abbas Khan from PPP, and Fazlullah from PML-N.

The total number of voters in the constituency is 218,630, with 120,738 male voters and 97,892 female voters. There are a total of 155 polling stations set up for the by-elections in Mathura tehsil. Out of these, 75 are male polling stations, 66 are female polling stations, and 14 are joint polling stations, with a combined total of 496 polling booths.

To ensure security, police personnel have been deployed at the polling stations, and the display of weapons has been strictly prohibited during the election. Additionally, elite force men are present around the polling camps to maintain a safe and peaceful voting environment.
