Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar affirmed that India’s aspirations to subjugate Kashmiris through force will never come to fruition. Speaking at a special session of the Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly in Muzaffarabad, he criticized the recent Indian Supreme Court ruling on Kashmir, labeling it as illegal and against constitutional norms. Kakar emphasized that such judicial decisions, perceived as puppetry, cannot alter the ground realities.
He highlighted the resolute rejection of Indian actions by Kashmiris, underlining the global recognition of the Kashmir conflict. Pakistan firmly supports the Kashmiri freedom movement and stands against India’s ambitions to suppress them by force, stating firmly that this endeavor will not succeed.
Kakar lamented the plight of millions of Kashmiris affected by pellet guns used by Indian forces, pointing out that the United Nations believes the Jammu and Kashmir issue can only be resolved through a referendum by Kashmiris.
The caretaker prime minister reiterated the decades-long unresolved status of the Kashmir issue at the United Nations, condemning Indian oppression and brutality toward Kashmiris, questioning how long their voices will remain stifled.
He emphasized Pakistan’s readiness to defend Kashmir, having faced war thrice for its cause and remaining prepared for any eventuality, stating that Pakistan’s first line of defense lies not in Muzaffarabad but in Baramulla and Srinagar. He envisioned this as a struggle not just for the region but also for religious and smaller nations.
Kakar underscored the centuries-long resistance against occupying powers in the region, asserting that Pakistan’s completion is linked to the resolution of the Kashmir issue. He affirmed the clarity in Pakistan’s leadership across political, military, and intelligence realms regarding policy-making.
Recognizing the sacrifices made by Kashmiris in Occupied Kashmir, he expressed Pakistan’s indebtedness and vowed never to waiver from its fundamental stance. He empathized with the Kashmiris’ plight, facing issues like rape and forced disappearances, hailing them as true fighters for their cause.
Lastly, he urged the international community to take notice of and speak out against the rising Hindutva slogans from Chhattisgarh to Assam, expressing concerns about events in Goa and emphasizing the need for global attention and intervention.
