
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has informed the International Cricket Council (ICC) about its preferred venues for the 2023 World Cup in India.
According to a report by Cricket Pakistan, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee Chairman Najam Sethi has made it clear to the ICC that Pakistan will consider playing at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad only if they are knocked out.
Be it stage or final matches. PCB Chairman Najam Sethi had expressed his reluctance to play their matches at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad during a recent meeting with ICC Chairman Greg Barkley and CEO Jeff Allardyce in Pakistan.
Najam Sethi had requested the ICC that if the national team gets clearance from the government to travel to India for the global event in October and November, it will play its matches in Chennai, Bengaluru and Kolkata.
In an interview given to the Indian media The PCB chief had expressed his concerns citing security issues.
On the other hand, reports had revealed that the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) wanted to schedule the India-Pakistan match at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium, which has a seating capacity of more than 1 lakh people.
