PTI leader Dr. Yasmin Rashid has voiced her concerns regarding Maryam Nawaz’s attire, stating that action should be taken against her for wearing a police uniform.
During an informal exchange with the media at the anti-terrorism court, Dr. Yasmin Rashid highlighted the alleged attempts by PML-N leaders to strike deals for their release, contrasting PTI’s stance of not engaging in such practices. She emphasized PTI’s commitment to upholding principles and not succumbing to pressure, citing Rana Sanaullah’s purported advice to negotiate as an example of what PTI refuses to do. Dr. Rashid also expressed frustration over the delay in the processing of her bail applications, noting that they have been pending for several months.
She praised the resilience of PTI members Sanam Javed and Alia Hamza, describing them as symbols of resistance who have remained steadfast in the face of political persecution. Despite the challenges of incarceration, Dr. Rashid commended their unwavering spirit, highlighting Sanam Javed’s recent appearance in court from Sargodha jail with a smile.
In response to inquiries, Dr. Yasmin Rashid remarked on Maryam Nawaz’s attire, suggesting that while it may be a congratulatory gesture, wearing a police uniform without being formally recruited constitutes a legal offense. She called for accountability, placing responsibility on the IG Punjab for what she perceives as negligence in allowing such actions to occur.
