In the matter of the presidential reference regarding Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s execution, Chairman of the People’s Party, Bilawal Bhutto, has submitted a request to the Supreme Court for a live broadcast of the proceedings.
Represented by his lawyer, Farooq H Naik, Bilawal Bhutto’s petition urges for direct public airing of the case concerning the presidential reference, which was initiated on behalf of my father Asif Zardari. The aim is to remove any doubt from the judicial process by showcasing the hearings live and addressing the tarnish on the system.
Bilawal Bhutto’s stance emphasizes that while Zulfikar Bhutto was sentenced to death for alleged conspiracy, his ideology persists today. Bhutto’s principles centered around basic necessities: food, clothing, and shelter.
Highlighting Bhutto’s lifelong advocacy for the rule of law, it’s argued that Bhutto’s execution remains a stain on the entire judicial system. The call for public viewing of the proceedings aims to enhance transparency throughout Pakistan.
Notably, the Zulfikar Bhutto case is set for a hearing in the Supreme Court tomorrow.
