
It has been decided to roll out the Smart Safe City project across 18 cities in Punjab with the assistance of NRTC. The agreement between Punjab Safe City Authority and NRTC was finalized in the presence of Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
Additionally, an agreement for the Smart Safe City Authority project was also signed. MD Ahsan Younis from Smart Safe City Authority and Syed Amir Javed, representing NRTC, signed the agreement.
During the briefing, it was revealed that air quality index monitoring environment sensors will be installed in these 18 cities. The safe city projects in Gujarat, Jhelum, Sheikhupura, Okara, and Taxila are expected to be operational by the end of May. Furthermore, the projects in Multan, Bahawalpur, Sargodha, Rahim Yar Khan, Muzaffargarh, Sahiwal, Jhang, Attock, Hasan Abdal, DG Khan, Sialkot, Murree, Okara, and Mianwali are slated for completion this year.
Senior Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, along with Chief Secretary, Chairman P&D, Home Secretary, IG Police, Finance Secretary, and other officials, were present during the signing of the agreement.
