The Islamabad High Court has ruled that the Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad is in contempt of court. As a consequence, the court has sentenced the Deputy Commissioner to six months in prison for contempt, although this sentence has been suspended for one month given its brevity.
Additionally, the court has instructed that an appeal must be filed within a month and has ordered a copy of the judgment to be sent to the Prime Minister. Furthermore, the Deputy Commissioner has been directed to pay a fine of Rs. SP Farooq Buttar has been relieved of involvement in the case by the court.
