Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan has rejected all four petitions of PTI in the intra-party case.
A 10-page decision has been issued by the ECP. In the decision written by Member Sindh Nisar Durrani, PTI’s objection on the jurisdiction of Election Commission in intra-party elections has been rejected.
The Election Commission also rejected the request of Tehreek-e-Insaaf for postponement in the intra-party election case. Apart from this, the request to delay the process of intra-party elections in certain seats till the decision of the commission was also rejected.
The Election Commission directed the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf to approach the court for the return of the documents taken from the party office by the FIA. It has been said in the decision that section 208 of the Election Act 2017 is the responsibility of the commission to review the legal requirements of intra-party elections. Under Section 209 III, it is the responsibility of the Commission to check the facts of the issuance of the certificate.
