Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has said that the elections will be held on time in October. Khawaja Asif while talking to Arab TV said that there is definitely a political crisis in Pakistan but it will be overcome very soon.
He said that on May 9, armed groups of PTI attacked military installations. PTI was involved in violent incidents in Rawalpindi, Mianwali and Lahore. Khawaja Asif said that there have been arrests in Pakistan before, I was also arrested, my leader and many people of my political party were arrested, we were arrested but we never did politics of violence. The PML-N leader said that we have never attacked military and civil facilities on arrests, those who attack military and civil facilities are enemies of the country.
Khawaja Asif said that there are political differences but that does not mean that property should be attacked, PTI miscreants attacked military installations as part of a well-thought-out plan. He said that such an action is equivalent to a war against Pakistan, the trials of the attackers will be in military courts according to the constitutional procedure, we are not making new courts and new laws, there are already existing laws. He said that such accused will have the right to appeal in the High Courts and then in the Supreme Court. We are trying to control the situation. The federal minister said that peace has been restored in the cities and the situation will be normal in a few days.
