In Rawalpindi, Fawad Chaudhry has received clearance to run for elections in Jhelum despite objections from the Returning Officers regarding his candidacy papers.
The Election Tribunal, in response to appeals made by the former Federal Information Minister, has granted permission for him to contest the elections for National Assembly Constituencies NA 60 and 61 in Jhelum.
Judge Chaudhry Abdul Aziz dismissed objections raised by the returning officers of both constituencies, thereby allowing Fawad Chaudhry to participate in the election.
After his appearance in the accountability court, Fawad Chaudhry addressed the media, expressing uncertainty about which party to align with for the election. He highlighted the need for open dialogue in media interactions and pointed out the transformation of PTV during his tenure, stating that when he took over, the organization faced a 4.5 billion rupee loss but eventually generated a profit of 3.5 billion rupees. He questioned whether the media truly enjoys freedom now, suggesting that the highest level of media freedom was achieved during their tenure.
