Fawad Chaudhry, the leader of the Stability Pakistan Party, has called for a reduction in the distance between Chairman PTI, Nawaz Sharif, and the establishment. Recently, he appeared before the Election Commission in a personal capacity and submitted a written apology during the contempt case against him.
During the hearing, Fawad Chaudhry explained that the current environment in the country has led to bitterness, making it difficult to predict the extent of the hostility. The Chief Election Commissioner expressed dissatisfaction with the initial apology, stating that it contained conditions and requested a proper apology to avoid a show cause notice. The Election Commission adjourned the case until August 15 after reviewing the revised apology.
Following the hearing, Fawad Chaudhry addressed the media, emphasizing the need to resolve bitterness and reduce the distance between Chairman PTI, Nawaz Sharif, and the establishment. He believed that holding elections in Pakistan would be challenging without reducing these tensions. He proposed the creation of a democratic charter before the elections, as the country’s current situation does not foster a suitable environment for democracy. Fawad Chaudhry stressed the importance of normalizing Pakistan and ending mutual conflicts before proceeding with elections.
