Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has sanctioned a 25 percent raise in the salaries of its employees. The provincial finance department has issued a declaration confirming that the provincial cabinet approved this increase via a circulation summary. Effective from July 1, 2024, the increment will be provided as Ad Hoc Relief Allowance.
Employees in grades one to sixteen will receive a 25 percent increase on their basic ongoing pay, while those in grades seventeen to twenty-two will see a 20 percent raise. Initially, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had proposed only a 10 percent salary increase in the budget. However, following the approach of the center and other provinces, this adjustment brings the increase to 25 percent. The amendment to the Finance Bill 2024 for this adjustment still needs approval from the provincial assembly.
