In Islamabad, Pakistan has strongly denounced another incident of desecration involving the Holy Quran in the Netherlands. Pakistan has called on the European nation to promptly address and take action against such offensive and Islamophobic acts.
As per reports from Express News, Pakistan’s Foreign Office issued a press statement expressing its deep condemnation of the recent desecration of the Holy Quran that occurred in The Hague, Netherlands. This condemnable act took place in front of Pakistani embassies and involved member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
The Foreign Office emphasized that this deliberate and provocative act, which can be seen as Islamophobic, has deeply wounded the sentiments of Muslims across the globe. Such actions should not be justified under the pretext of freedom of expression, opinion, or protest.
Earlier, the Turkish newspaper Daily Sabah reported that Edwin Wagensveld, who leads the Dutch branch of the far-right group Pegida in the Netherlands, committed the act of desecrating the Holy Quran in front of the Turkish, Pakistani, and Indonesian embassies in The Hague.
