Chaudhry Parvez Elahi was brought before the Anti-Terrorism Court in Islamabad by the Islamabad Police. Duty Judge Shahrukh Arjamand presided over the case, which originated from a complaint registered at Police Station CTD.
The Islamabad Police presented Chaudhry Parvez Elahi in court and requested his physical remand. They alleged that he had supplied vehicles and weapons for a riot at the judicial complex and had sent individuals to carry out an attack in Islamabad. The police emphasized the need to recover the vehicles and identify the unknown culprits involved.
In response, Parvez Elahi’s legal representative opposed the request for physical remand, arguing that it was baseless. They claimed that their client was being unfairly targeted and was suffering from illness and back pain.
Additionally, Parvez Elahi’s lawyer filed a contempt of court petition against the Inspector General (IG) of Islamabad and the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Islamabad in the Islamabad High Court. This petition was related to his re-arrest following his release from jail.
Sardar Abdul Raziq Advocate named the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Police Station Shalimar, and others as parties in the contempt of court petition. He requested the summoning of these parties and urged that contempt of court proceedings be initiated against them. Furthermore, he called for departmental action to be taken against them.
