A petition has been submitted to the Sindh High Court challenging the attire worn by the ticket checkers on the Pink Bus, a public transport service exclusively for women.
Advocate Shazia filed the petition, expressing her astonishment at the uniform worn by the Pink Bus ticket checker.
The petitioner raised concerns that the ticket checker’s attire consisted of a white shalwar kameez and black coat, which closely resembled the official uniform worn by female lawyers. Despite approaching the bar association for a modification of the ticket checker’s uniform on the Pink Bus service, no positive response was received.
In the petition, the Sindh Government, Secretary of Transport, and the Director of the Pink Bus Service have been urged to instruct a change in the ticket checker’s uniform through a court order.
