The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has vehemently criticized the recent hike in petroleum product prices, asserting that this increase must be rolled back, and the government’s pattern of extracting excessive funds from the public must cease.
In response to the surge in petrol and diesel costs, a spokesperson for PTI has expressed concern that it is becoming increasingly challenging to prevent public outrage due to escalating inflation. Rather than igniting internal unrest and fostering chaos, PTI insists that the current governing body should promptly hold elections and transfer authority to an elected government.
The PTI representative stated that the immediate rollback of the rise in petroleum product prices is imperative, and the government’s persistent exploitation of the populace must come to an end. There is no room for further experimentation when those in charge of the country deviate from constitutional and legal frameworks. This recent escalation in petrol and diesel prices is anticipated to exacerbate the detrimental effects of inflation.
The spokesperson asserted that individuals who lack competence and serve merely as placeholders are exacerbating the challenges faced by the population while the economy is pushed to the brink of disaster. While it was hoped that Anwar Haq Kakar would choose a different path rather than inheriting the practices of previous administrations, the caretaker government appears to be an extension of the previous government’s misconduct, according to PTI.
According to the PTI spokesperson, this price increase appears to be a calculated effort to incite civil unrest in the country after eroding the purchasing power of the citizens. In their statement, the spokesperson has called upon the caretaker government to abandon the harsh practice of burdening the public with the costs of failed economic policies.
