The PML-N (Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz) has announced its decision to form an alliance with all the opponents of the People’s Party in Sindh. Nawaz Sharif will also visit Sindh and participate in elections alongside various political parties that are opposed to the People’s Party, including MQM, GDA, and JUI.
According to PML-N sources, Bashir Memon will be appointed as the president of Muslim League (N) Sindh, and no other officials will be appointed in Sindh for the time being. Most of the decisions will be taken during the general council meeting, which is expected to seek approval for the cause of Palestine.
Following Bashir Memon’s appointment as the president of PML-N Sindh, he will make decisions based on the prevailing circumstances, and these decisions will originate from Sindh. It is reported that a delegation from MQM will meet former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Lahore to discuss seat adjustments and electoral collaboration with MQM, GDA, and JUI(F) in Sindh to mount a strong challenge against the People’s Party.
In the 2018 elections, the People’s Party secured 3.5 million votes, while their opponents collectively received 3.2 million votes, indicating an intention to consolidate opposition forces.
The primary aim of this move is to forge a robust alliance within Sindh for the upcoming elections. Maulana Fazlur Rehman has been invited for dinner by Nawaz Sharif, despite being overseas for the Palestinian cause. Asif Zardari, the former President, had a recent phone call with Nawaz Sharif, though there have been no subsequent communications.
Regarding PTI (Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf), the PML-N has a clear policy of not engaging in talks until May 9, and they believe that PTI should seek legal relief through the courts. Nawaz Sharif plans to visit all four provinces after the general council meeting. He will visit Quetta to meet with party members and individuals interested in joining PML-N, with Sardar Ayaz Sadiq playing a pivotal role in these interactions. Additionally, discussions about a political alliance with BAP (Balochistan Awami Party) are in progress.
Full-fledged political activities will commence in Quetta, and Nawaz Sharif has not yet decided to convene an all-party conference. Instead, he intends to hold meetings and dialogues within his party and promote unity where possible.
