
In Lahore, the lawyer who chanted “Chur Chor” during Maryam Aurangzeb’s court appearance has been apprehended. The Anti-Terrorism Court in Lahore oversaw the proceedings of the case involving anti-state remarks against Maryam Aurangzeb, a leader of the League.
The police took into custody the attorney who voiced support for the former chairman of Tehreek-e-Insaf outside the court premises. Atiqur Rahman, the arrested lawyer, had participated in chanting “Chor Chor” slogans alongside other activists upon Maryam Aurangzeb’s arrival. Despite police warnings, Atiqur Rahman persisted in provoking the workers.
Atiqur Rahman had come to attend the court session as an accused in the May 9 tragedy cases.
