The new Chief Justice of the Federal Shariat Court, Iqbal Hameedur Rehman, took the oath of office, and the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Umar Atta Bandial, took the oath of office.
Chief Justice Federal Shariat Court Iqbal Hameedur Rehman’s swearing-in ceremony was held in Islamabad Supreme Court, in which Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandial, other Supreme Court judges and Attorney General also participated.
Justice Qazi Faiz Isa, Justice Sardar Tariq, Justice Ijaz Ul Ahsan, Justice Mansoor, Justice Muneeb Akhtar, Justice Yahya Afridi, Justice Aminuddin, Justice Mazahir Naqvi, Justice Jamal Khan Mandukhel, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Justice Shahid Waheed and Justice Hasan Azhar Rizvi and others were involved.
Justice Iqbal Hameedur Rahman has previously served as a judge in the Supreme Court of Pakistan. Justice Iqbal Hameedur Rehman resigned as a judge of the Supreme Court in October 2016.
