In Islamabad, the National Press Club management and local businessmen have lodged a police complaint against the Baloch Solidarity Council’s protest concerning missing persons.
The complaint, filed at Kohsar police station, urges the relocation of the Baloch Unity Council sit-in led by Dr. Mahrang Baloch to another venue.
The Islamabad Press Club administration has submitted a plea against the demonstration, highlighting disruptions caused by the protest in front of the press club. Simultaneously, local business owners have reached out to high-profile figures, including the Army Chief, President of Pakistan, Prime Minister, IG Islamabad, and law enforcement agencies. They claim that the ongoing Baloch Missing Person protest has severely impacted their businesses and livelihoods, resulting in significant financial losses.
Expressing concern over the consistent traffic jams and security issues stemming from the protests, the press club’s management contends that their primary source of income, derived from press conferences and seminars, is at risk. The petition, directed to SHO Kohsar Shafqat Faiz, emphasizes the challenges faced by members and guests attending the Press Club due to road closures and protests.
Moreover, the management asserts that security concerns have led to the cancellation of events at the Press Club, which typically attract political, social, and foreign diplomatic figures. In light of these issues, the petition urges the relocation of the Baloch protestors from outside the press club to an alternative location.
