Karachi: Residents of the area protested strongly against the non-supply of water near Korangi Nasir Jump.
The protestors said that the supply of water has been stopped in Nasir Colony and surrounding areas for the last 10 days, due to which the residents of the area have become thirsty.
According to the details, there was a strong protest by the residents of the area against the non-supply of water near Korangi Nasirjump between Friday and Saturday night, during which the residents of the area burnt tires on the road and erected barriers, blocking both tracks of the road for traffic. Due to which the citizens going from Korangi to Landhi and Landhi to Korangi Crossing faced problems and traffic jammed in the surrounding streets.
The protestors say that the water supply has been stopped in Nasir Colony and surrounding areas for the last 10 days due to which the residents of the area will be thirsty for water, but the water supply is not being restored in their area. It is not possible to buy water in the rising inflation and even if water is bought, the water hydrant administration refuses to sell it.
The protestors said that they have registered their complaints to the Water Board authorities several times but their complaints are not being heard due to which they are forced to protest. They will file their protest record. Police officials reached the spot on the information of the protest and the police held talks with the protestors and assured them that they will be discussed with the Water Board authorities to restore the water supply. It was ended and the protestors dispersed peacefully, later the police also restored the traffic.
